Wife, Mother, 4th degree black belt in Goju Ryu Karate Do, and Licensed Massage Therapist. Lisa is Co owner of The SC Wellness & Fitness Center as well as The Karate Studio with her husband Nelson Melendez, where they live in Myrtle Beach, SC. She also conducts continuing education for licensed massage therapist at the wellness center as well as for Massage Envy in South Carolina. Mrs. Melendez is a distributor for Damsel in Defense where she sells personal protection items such as pepper spray and stun guns. Lisa is also a distributor and wellness consultant for Juice Plus+ (whole food & plant based nutrition for the whole family). If that is not enough, Lisa and her husband founded Healthy Concepts, INC. a nonprofit organization that offers scholarships to children, seniors and families for mental, physical and nutritional servicers. Prior to becoming an entrepreneur, Lisa ran an afterschool program for at risk children in Brooklyn NY as well as Seattle, WA
Lisa, graduated with honors from massage school at Ashmead College in Seattle, WA in February 2001. Prior to becoming a massage therapist, Lisa worked in the youth field, implementing and operating youth programs for 7 years in New York City and Seattle Washington.
Since graduating, her massage employment experience includes teacher's assistant at Ashmead College; an instructor for Massage, Kinesiology, and other massage related classes at Dover Business College, Dover, NJ, SC Massage & Esthetics Institute, in Myrtle Beach, SC where she was also the Assistant Director. Lisa has also worked and managed the massage department at a 5 star salon and spa in Seattle. Performing Medical Massage in Florida, and right here in Myrtle Beach as well as working at Dolce Lusso Salon and spa located at the Market Commons in Myrtle Beach.
Mrs. Melendez was also an instructor and Program Director for Miller-Motte Technical College in Conway, SC. While at Miller-Motte, Lisa offered massage therapy services for seniors at Agape in Conway, SC as well as at the adult day care in Myrtle Beach, SC.
